I am grudgingly giving five stars. Extremely well run campground with lots of semipermanent "campers". Clean, neat, orderly, there just don't seem to be enough accolades. This is a semi urban campground in close proximity to the city. You will hear city sounds like sirens and horns but it is easy to forget them in this idyllic forest setting on the waterfront. I knew what I was getting into and thus gave five stars. Everyone and everything was awesome.
Beautiful location. Friendly staff. Clean and well managed facility. Some campsites small.It is crucial that the owners minimize further development in order to protect the beautiful tree.
For the size of this place (300+ sites) it is VERY well maintained. It has more amenities then the average campground, fair prices, friendly staff, and clean sites. We will be back and recommending this place for family and friends. A solid 4 star.
During our recent trip to Nanaimo we stayed here on two separate occasions for a total of 5 nights. This place is awesome and has so many great (flat) well maintained sites. The staff are very friendly and our kids loved hanging out in the games room and playing at the park near our site. We visited the cafe each morning which was a nice treat to be able to walk to get a specialty coffee. If we are in Nanaimo again there is no question where we will be staying!
Beautiful setting with lovely private pitches set amongst trees by the water. We were disappointed that the cafe just steps from our pitch had closed for the season. There is a games room for kids but the 'adult lounge was not what we expected. Very sedate with a kettle, some books and jigsaws!
