Outstanding sporting gear store with phenomenal staff, including a shoe whisperer! Great selection of runners and shoes as well as other fitness wear & gear. Best running store in Nanaimo! Convenient location and long hours ensure that they are open and available when you want/need to visit. Specialized staff are able to assist with numerous types of sporting activities; giving insightful and relevant advice without pressure or being pushy. Decent sales and clearance bargains are also to be found.

Frontrunners is my go to place when I am looking for comfortable and well fitting ladies shoes, as well as some of the best therapeutic/exercise gear in the greater Nanaimo region. Their staff are all friendly and knowledgeable of their products, which of course is always a welcome quality to find in any retail store. On my first visit to the store, the young lady who looked after me was very thorough in her search for the right match for my hard to fit feet, which have always been very wide with a high instep. I usually have to settle for a men's athletic shoe and live with an abnormal amount of toe space. She not only found me a pair of ladies athletic shoes in my size, she managed to find two pairs in different colours plus a pair of Birkenstock sandals as well. I couldn't make up my mind and ended up buying all three. I mean it's not just every day that I find even one pair of shoes that fit so well. I returned some time later when in the neighbourhood to personally thank them and found their assortment of Addaday therapeutic/exercise products. I tried a back support arch which was rather amazing, and have since added several other Addaday products to my collection, which I use daily. They also own the New Balance next door, so they have twice the inventory to select from. Amazing product selection, but their customer service is even more impressive. Huge kudos to these stores and the awesome people who work there.
