Wow! First visit to this place and not disappointed. The menu selection is pretty large so the likelihood of finding something for everyone is pretty good. The prices seem a bit on the higher side but the portions are huge, well seasoned, hot and flavorful! The seating is a bit cozy when it gets busy and the service was generally pretty good with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Basic beer selection and a few deserts available including bubble tea. Will visit again.
The worst part is trying to decide what amazing dish to order. My favourite place to eat when traveling through Nanaimo. Perfection plated.
We had our first meal at Huong Lan last night and it was really good. We ate the bar, so the service was pretty quick. The place was full when we got there and there was a steady stream of phone calls for take out and reservations, walk-in take-out orders, and guests the entire time we were there. I recommend it and the deep friend banana spring roll is to die for. Go. Eat. Enjoy.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with their pho dac biet. The broth was missing the savoury bone broth flavour I was hoping for. It almost tasted packaged, definitely not a good sign for a place that serves pho. I have enjoyed their vermicelli dishes in the past though and they are very accommodating to vegans.
Absolutely delicious food, generous portions and friendly staff. I go there every week!
