Pretty solid food and service. I can definitely see myself coming back to try more.
Love this little restaraunt! The owners are so cheerful and welcoming, it feels like a home cooked meal. Amazing service, some really neat imported sodas and other beverages (plus candies and dairy treats) from japan to try, superb atmosphere, and one more thing.......oh right, GREAT FOOD! I never liked japanese cuisine until I tried this place with a girlfriend.One of Nanaimo and the Islands hidden gemsMake sure you grab a menu to take home, they have very generous portions for pick-up/take-out and prepare the food very quickly. The prices are a little out-dated.. and by "out-dated", I mean inexpensive.Seriously, Great Value
The restaurant is clean with cute island themed decor that shows where its local craft beer comes from. The staff were very friendly and the service was great. It doesn't have a crazy amount of different types of food options like some Japanese restaurants do, but what they do they do very well and I like that better personally. The highlight for me was the chicken karaage. It was delightful and if I lived in Nanaimo I would probably order multiples of it all the time. Overall it was a delicious authentic meal at an extremely reasonable price.
I tried to order a side of their soup they use for their ramen and was denied, I think I wasn't understood. Still 5 stars for their delicious food and friendly service. Nice atmosphere too.
I never thought that I would find a restaurant of this caliber on Vancouver Island but I stumbled on this incredible little place! real authentic Japanese food served by all Japanese staff this isnt your run of the mill Chinese or Korean owned Japanese restaurant, this is the same food and quality as youd expect in Japan and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, the flavours incredible, the service is fast friendly and unforgettable. Anytime Im on the Island I will go out of my way to come here, its that good!!
