The Nanaimo Child Development Center or The CD is the greatest local community resource for children and families! More specifically, children 0 to 5 years old or until they begin school are when the most services are accessible. The CDC allows parents and caregivers to put their own referrals in for their children. This means if you have a concern you can contact the CDC directly rather than wait for your doctor to send in a referral etc. They also have an amazing preschool and daycare! Some of the services offered by the CDC include...Physiotherapy with a large gym full of equipment and fun things to help children work on their physical development in a fun way! They offer assessments, occupational therapy, counselling and much more! They have also have a clothing and toy exchange table. The thing my kids love most...the huge fish tank with many fish to watch and keep the kids entertained while you wait for your appointment in the waiting room...toys and books to check out too The staff are also beyond fantastic! They all really know their stuff..highly knowledgeable and always friendly with big smiles. Staff quickly put you and your children at ease when you are going through what can be a difficult time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE NANAIMO CDC
